Adidas is set to make waves in the footwear industry with its recent announcement of launching more affordable versions of its iconic three-striped shoes, including the popular white and black suede Samba. This strategic move was unveiled by CEO Bjorn Gulden at the company’s annual shareholders’ meeting in Furth, near Adidas’ headquarters in Herzogenaurach.
“It’s important to understand that not everyone can afford to buy a shoe for $120 or $150, but everyone wants to take part in the same trends,” Gulden emphasized during his presentation. Understanding the need for inclusivity in fashion, Adidas plans to offer similar versions of its high-demand shoes for a more wallet-friendly price range of $60 to $80.
Gulden’s presentation slide highlighted the company’s initiative to “bring down” the high price points, stating, “What we do at the top, $100 and higher, we’re bringing that down.” These more affordable models are specifically targeted at retailers like Deichmann and Intersport, aiming to reach a broader audience.
Scheduled for release in Summer 2024, this initiative is expected to appeal to budget-conscious consumers and sneaker enthusiasts alike, allowing them to partake in the latest trends without breaking the bank.
The move comes as part of Adidas’ broader strategy to democratize fashion and ensure that style and quality are accessible to all. Retailers and consumers alike are eagerly anticipating the launch, which promises to reshape the market dynamics of popular footwear.
Stay tuned for more updates as Adidas prepares to roll out these exciting new offerings next summer.
